Hospital Clinical Coder

About the position

Location: Cape Town (Northern Suburbs)

Private Hospital client seeks to employ a Registered Nurse to accurately capture Clinical Coding of patients.

Key responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Hospital Case Management teams for liaising between patients, treating clinicians and managed care organisations.
• Providing Clinical Coding that is updated in accordance with the patient's response to treatments.
• Assess clinical statements and convert the info into ICD 10 and CPT coding on the patient's account.

Key requirements:

• Nursing Diploma and active registration with SANC as a Registered Nurse.
• Certificate in Advanced Complete ICD-10 for South Africa.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in Clinical Coding and/or Case Management in a PRIVATE HOSPITAL environment required.
• Multi-disciplinary clinical experience and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel.
• Ability to work extended hours when required.
